HIGHLIGHTING DR. LAWRENCE WOROBETZ'S LECTURES IN SASKATOON

Dr. Lawrence Worobetz is making Hepatology lectures a memorable experience for undergrads students in Saskatoon! Known for his interactive teaching style, he loves mingling with students and asking questions during his talks. Dr. Worobetz often asks questions to those wearing red. So, when he went to his second lecture, the entire class showed up in red clothes! Here is a class picture with everyone giving the "liver salute" and chanting "love your liver" – a saying that comes with a yellow pen for everyone working on Hepatology. (Yellow for jaundice, of course!). Check out the photo and join us in celebrating this vibrant learning environment!👏

DR. CARLA COFFIN, PRESIDENT OF CASL, CONTRIBUTES TO A GLOBAL COLLABORATIVE STUDY ON HBV AND THE THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF BPV COMBINED WITH PEGYLATED INTERFERON (Peg-IFN)

Chronic HBV infection is a major global health problem, with approximately 820,000 related deaths worldwide in 2019, mostly attributed to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Sequential therapy with bepirovirsen followed by Peg-IFN is tolerable and effective in participants with chronic HBV infection on stable NA therapy. This proof-of-concept trial demonstrates a potential strategy to extend responses to bepirovirsen by reducing relapse.
