The CASL-Liver Canada Sass-Kortsak Award was established by the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver and the Canadian Liver Foundation to honour the late Dr. Andrew Sass-Kortsak who did much to further the work of the Liver Canada and made tremendous contributions to the field of pediatric hepatology. The program offered travel costs and honouraria to visiting scientists to lecture at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons’ Annual Conference.
The CASL-Liver Canada Sass-Kortsak Award is presented every two years to a CASL member in recognition of outstanding achievements in research and science in pediatric hepatology. The recipient is invited as a guest lecturer at the Canadian Liver Meeting (formerly CASL Annual Meeting).
