The Certificate of Merit of the Canadian Liver Journal is awarded for significant contributions to the journal that exceed expectations. The contributions can be in the form of willingness to review submitted papers for the journal, providing excellent reviews of submissions for the journal, submitting outstanding papers to the journal, promotion of the journal to colleagues and within the hepatology community, and for outstanding administrative work performed on behalf of the journal. The Certificate of Merit is not intended to be an annual award and there are no quotas for the number of recipients of the certificate.
