Manns, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 le 15 ao\u00fbt 2025, \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e2ge de 73 ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le professeur Manns \u00e9tait un visionnaire en h\u00e9patologie, dont la carri\u00e8re s&#039;est \u00e9tendue sur plus de quatre d\u00e9cennies de recherche, d&#039;enseignement et de leadership transformateurs. En tant que directeur du d\u00e9partement de gastroent\u00e9rologie, d&#039;h\u00e9patologie et d&#039;endocrinologie de la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de Hanovre (MHH), il a men\u00e9 des travaux pionniers sur les h\u00e9patites virales, les maladies auto-immunes du foie et la transplantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il laisse dans son h\u00e9ritage la cr\u00e9ation de Hep-Net, le r\u00e9seau national allemand de lutte contre l&#039;h\u00e9patite, et de la Fondation allemande du foie, qui continuent tous deux de fa\u00e7onner la recherche et les politiques sur le foie. Le professeur Manns a \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 le MHH, guidant l&#039;institution pendant la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19 et pilotant son \u00e9volution vers un campus complet d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux sciences de la sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Son leadership en tant que pr\u00e9sident du Symposium international sur l\u2019h\u00e9patite virale et les maladies du foie (ISVHLD) et du Sommet mondial sur l\u2019h\u00e9patite a r\u00e9uni des experts du monde entier, favorisant la collaboration et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rant les progr\u00e8s dans la lutte contre l\u2019h\u00e9patite virale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au niveau international, il a occup\u00e9 des postes de direction au sein de l&#039;UEG, de l&#039;EASL et d&#039;autres grandes soci\u00e9t\u00e9s, remportant des distinctions telles que le prix UEG Lifetime Achievement Award et le prix EASL Recognition Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;influence du professeur Manns s&#039;est profond\u00e9ment \u00e9tendue \u00e0 l&#039;h\u00e9patologie canadienne gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son mentorat, son esprit de collaboration et ses contributions scientifiques. Ses travaux ont inspir\u00e9 des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de sp\u00e9cialistes du foie, dont plusieurs au sein de la communaut\u00e9 de l&#039;ACEF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous pr\u00e9sentons nos plus sinc\u00e8res condol\u00e9ances \u00e0 sa famille, \u00e0 ses coll\u00e8gues et \u00e0 tous ceux qui ont eu le privil\u00e8ge de travailler \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s.
