Il a su rassembler les gens au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res \u2013 de pays, de disciplines et de perspectives \u2013 toujours avec humilit\u00e9, gr\u00e2ce et intelligence.<br>Son impact ne connaissait pas de fronti\u00e8res, tout comme la gratitude que nous ressentons pour l\u2019avoir connu.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giada Sebastiani, pr\u00e9sidente \u00e9lue de la LCAP<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La communaut\u00e9 mondiale de l&#039;h\u00e9patologie pleure la disparition du professeur Jaume Bosch, clinicien-chercheur, \u00e9ducateur et leader pionnier dont les travaux ont transform\u00e9 la recherche et les soins des maladies du foie. N\u00e9 \u00e0 G\u00e9rone, en Catalogne, en 1947, le professeur Bosch a consacr\u00e9 plus de cinquante ans \u00e0 faire progresser la compr\u00e9hension et le traitement de l&#039;hypertension portale et des maladies du foie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de l&#039;Universit\u00e9 de Barcelone, il a suivi sa formation \u00e0 l&#039;Universit\u00e9 Yale aupr\u00e8s du professeur Roberto Groszmann, une collaboration qui a fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 ses recherches sur l&#039;h\u00e9modynamique h\u00e9patique tout au long de sa vie. De retour \u00e0 Barcelone, il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 l&#039;un des laboratoires les plus influents au monde dans le domaine de l&#039;hypertension portale, encadrant des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations d&#039;h\u00e9patologues et auteur de plus de 400 publications \u00e9valu\u00e9es par des pairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;h\u00e9ritage du professeur Bosch comprend des travaux r\u00e9volutionnaires dans la prise en charge des saignements variqueux, la mesure non invasive de la pression portale et l&#039;utilisation des statines dans les maladies h\u00e9patiques. Ses contributions ont directement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 la vie d&#039;innombrables patients dans le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En reconnaissance de son impact extraordinaire, le professeur Bosch a re\u00e7u en 2012 la m\u00e9daille d\u2019or de l\u2019Association canadienne pour l\u2019\u00e9tude du foie, r\u00e9compensant ses contributions exceptionnelles \u00e0 la recherche sur le foie et \u00e0 la collaboration internationale au sein de la communaut\u00e9 canadienne du foie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de ses r\u00e9alisations scientifiques, le professeur Bosch \u00e9tait reconnu pour son humilit\u00e9, sa g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 et son d\u00e9vouement au mentorat.
